New York Homeschool Letter of Intent
New York requires annual notice to begin homeschooling. Here’s a free template and exactly how to file it.

File an Individualized Home Instruction Plan (IHIP) with the local school district by July 1 or within 14 days of starting. Submit quarterly reports to the district.

- Each student’s name, date of birth, and grade level
- A clear statement of intent to provide home instruction under New York law
- The school year it covers (you’ll re-file this each year)
