Wyoming Homeschool Letter of Intent
Wyoming doesn’t require one. Here’s what that means for you.
Good news: Wyoming does not require a notice of intent to homeschool. You can simply begin. Under the Homeschool Freedom Act (HB 46, effective July 2025) no standing or annual notice is required; only a withdrawal notice if pulling a child from public school.
One situation that still needs a letter
If your child is currently enrolled in a public school, send the school a short withdrawal letter before you stop attending; otherwise absences may be treated as truancy while the school still considers your child enrolled. A dated, signed note stating that you are withdrawing your child to provide instruction under Wyoming’s home education law is sufficient; keep a copy.
